Aktionstag Seenotrettung ist #unverhandelbar 07.08.21 14:00 Neumarkt Köln

Allein in diesem Jahr sind bereits über 800 Menschen im Mittelmeer ertrunken - und die EU schaut untätig zu. Zivilgesellschaftliche Seenotrettungsschiffe, die staatliche Aufgaben übernehmen und Menschenleben zu retten werden blockiert, Seenotretter*innen kriminalisiert und die Schiffe im Falle einer Rettung tagelang ohne sicheren Hafen allein gelassen.

Wegen dieser Abschottungspolitik und anlässlich der Bundestagswahlen im September 2021 rufen wir dazu auf, am 7. August 2021 für die Seenotrettung im Mittelmeer auf die Straßen zu gehen.

Wir wollen gemeinsam für eine lücken- und bedingungslose europäische Seenotrettung und gegen die Kriminalisierung von geflüchteten Menschen und Helfer*innen in vielen Städten deutschlandweit sichtbar und laut sein! Wir rufen euch auf, in Köln, um 14:00 auf dem Neumarkt dabei zu sein!

Als Europäer*innen wollen wir nicht nur das rassistisch motivierte Sterbenlassen an den EU-Außengrenzen beenden, sondern auch Verantwortung übernehmen – für Fluchtursachen ausgelöst durch unsere koloniale Geschichte, unsere gegenwärtigen Handels- und Wirtschaftspolitiken und für die von uns maßgeblich verursachte Klimakrise, die bereits ausgebeutete Länder besonders hart trifft.

Am 7. August 2021 wird es in zahlreichen Städten Aktionen geben.
Und auch wir wollen unsere Stimmen erheben und unseren Protest auf die Straßen tragen. Wir wollen nicht von Land aus zuschauen, wie Menschen aufgrund staatlicher Ignoranz ertrinken, auf Schiffen unnötig lange ausharren oder rechtswidrig nach Libyen verschleppt werden. Also kommt am 07. August um 14 Uhr zum Neumarkt in Köln!

Gemeinsam wollen wir als breites Bündnis aus zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisationen zahlreich und bunt ein Signal an die Politik senden:

Action day: Sea Rescue is non-negotiable 07.08.21 14:00 Neumarkt Cologne

This year over 800 people have drowned in the Mediterranean - and the EU is watching idly. Civil society sea rescue ships - that take on states responsbilities and rescue humans - are blocked, sea rescuers are criminalized and the ships are left alone for days without a safe harbor in the event of a rescue.

Because of this walls-up policy and on the occasion of the federal elections in September 2021, we call for people to take to the streets on August 7, 2021 for sea rescue in the Mediterranean Sea.

Together we want to be visible and loud in many cities throughout Germany for a complete and unconditional European sea rescue and against the criminalization of refugees and helpers! We will meet in Cologne at the Neumarkt at 14:00!

As Europeans, we not only want to end the racially motivated death at the EU's external borders, but also take responsibility - for the causes of flight triggered by our colonial history, our current trade and economic policies and for the climate crisis that we have largely caused and that hits already exploited countries particularly hard.

There will be campaigns in numerous cities on August 7, 2021.
And we too want to raise our voices and take our protests to the streets. We don't want to watch from land as people drown due to state ignorance, stay on ships for unnecessarily long or are illegally dragged to Libya. So come to the Neumarkt in Cologne on August 7th at 2pm!

Together, as a broad alliance of civil society organizations, we want to send a signal to politicians in numerous and colorful ways:
