Looking back at 2024 can make you feel rather queasy: CEAS, safety packages, massive deportation fantasies and a falling “firewall”. This year, the right to asylum and thus fundamental human rights were literally torn down. Looking ahead to 2025 also leaves us less optimistic.
We are preparing ourselves to have to stand up to even more right-wing agitation, to put ourselves even further in the way and to look for more and more ways bypassing it. While some are tearing down and dismantling, we are getting ready to work and build!
We are forming networks to connect struggles more strongly. We are creating structures to create spaces for exchange and to reclaim them. We rely on local initiatives to organize practical solidarity. We are creating protest actions to express our anger. We are building on a resilient civil society that organizes and networks with us and fights tirelessly for an open society based on solidarity.
We are building bridges among ourselves in order to stand united against all right-wing politics and to translate our anger into resistance together.
